There is a spirit that lives in Sta Teresa. Perched on this hill, we felt like eagles with the most spectacular views of the harbor, downtown, the local airport, and the neighborhoods of Botofogo and Flamengo. It’s incredible how much you can learn about a city from a birds eye view. Logistically, our colonial mansion was the perfect location; an easy breeze to both the north and south parts of the city. In the days prior to Carnival we waited to watch the city come alive.
It was the sounds of Carnaval, as it made its way through the narrow, windy streets of Sta Teresa, that let us know Carnaval had begun.
